Shut Down Procedures : CNC Router

1)   Details the proper steps to Shut Down the CNC Router; these procedures should be done at the end of the closing shift every day.

 

i)   Park the Machine

(1)    WinCNC has multiple command buttons located in the program interface. Find and select the button labeled: ‘Park’

 

ii)   Turn the air off

(1)    The air is controlled by a Red turn switch in the back right of the machine. It is the only Red turn switch you will find on this equipment.

 

iii)   Turn off the Master Switch

(1)    The Master Switch is located on the front of the Blue Controller Box that houses the Computer.

 

iv)   Turn off the Enable Switch

(1)    The Enable Switch is located on the front of the Blue Controller Box that houses the Computer.

 

v)   Use Compressed Air to blow off Equipment

(1)    An Air Hose is located in the back, right-hand corner of the room. Use it to clear debris from the Spindle, and all tools in the back of the equipment. DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR DIRECTLY: INTO THE SPINDLE, ANY AIR VENTS LOCATED ON THE SPINDLE, ANY OIL LINES LOCATED BEHIND THE SPINDLE, ON YOUR BODY.

 

vi)   Sweep and Vacuum all leftover Debris

(1)    Broom. Dust Collector.

 

vii)   Check Dust Collector

(1)    Check the Dust Bin to make sure it is not full.

(2)    Check the Filter Dust Bowl and make sure it is completely emptied.

 

viii)   Ensure all material leftover has a Storage Form Attached

(1)    Make sure all material leftover has a storage form. If it does not, the material will be thrown out and the student whom is responsible will be charged a disposal fee.

 

ix)   Turn off lights and Lock all doors.
