Emergency Stop Reset Procedures : CNC Router

1)      Details the proper steps to Reset and Re-Start the CNC Router after an ‘Emergency Stop’ Process has been activated. You must follow these steps EXACTLY as they appear.

 

i)        5-10 Minute Wait Time

(1)    To begin, the user must wait 5-10 minutes before resetting ANYTHING. DO NOT COMPLETE ANY TASKS until the 5-10 minute wait time has passed.

 

ii)      Master & Enable Switch

(1)    Master Switch:

(a)    This ‘turn-switch’ is located on the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station). Turn it to the ‘OFF’ position.

(2)    Enable Switch:

(a)    This ‘turn-switch’ is located on the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station). Turn it to the ‘OFF’ position.

 

iii)    Release E-Stop(s)

(1)    If the Fluorescent-Orange E-Stop Cord was Pulled:

(a)    The ‘Cord Release Button’ must be reset. The E-Stop Cord, if followed, will eventually run into a control-box located in the right-rear of the CNC Router- near the ‘AIR Valve’. The ‘Cord Release Button’, blue in color, and made of rubber; is housed on this control-box. Give this button a firm push, it will release the cord from an E-Stop state.

(2)    If the Red E-Stop Button was Activated:

(a)    The E-Stop Button must be reset. Located on the top-right of the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station), the Red E-Stop Button should be TURNED to the right. This will reset the Controller from an E-Stop state, back to a Normal Operation state.

 

iv)    Reset CNC Router

(1)    The CNC Router has a Power Box located on the Rear Wall, above the Compressed Air Line.  DO NOT OPEN THIS BOX. You will find a Blue Push-Button located on the Power Box labeled with an ‘R’. Push this button inward, and hold it for approximately 15 seconds.

 

v)      Reset Controller

(1)    Located on the top-right of the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station), you will find a translucent-green button. This is the ‘Controller Reset Switch’. Push this button. If you have completed all previous procedures correctly the button will re-start the equipment. You will hear the controller fans turning on, and air-valves opening. If nothing happens, then you must restart this entire process from the beginning. (5-10 Minute Wait Time)

 

vi)    Master & Enable Switch

(1)    Master Switch:

(a)    This ‘turn-switch’ is located on the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station). Turn it to the ‘ON’ position.

(2)    Enable Switch:

(a)    This ‘turn-switch’ is located on the Blue Controller Box (Computer Station). Turn it to the ‘ON’ position.

 

vii)  Computer Power

(1)    Lastly, the reset process will turn on ALL EQUIPMENT except for the Computer. Located on the left-side of the Blue Controller Box, you will find a SMALL DOOR.

(2)    *WARNING!* DO NOT OPEN THE LARGE DOOR AT THE REAR OF THE BOX! DO NOT OPEN THE MEDIUM-SIZE DOOR IN THE FRONT OF THE BOX! THESE AREAS HAVE HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRONICS THAT CAN INJURE OR KILL YOU!

(3)    The SMALL DOOR will have a computer system on the inside; turn the computer system on by pressing the power button. The Monitor should already be turned on.

 

viii) Re-Start the Equipment

(1)    Once Logged in, Open the WINCNC Program Interface. Find and Select the ‘HOME’ Button.
