3D Printing

dFAB’s Facilities include three 3D Printers; (1) Dimension 768sst, ABS Plastic Printer, (1) Objet30 Resin Printer, and (1) Projet 360 Plaster Printer. The Dimension Printer produces functioning ABS Plastic Models & Prototypes. The Objet30’s printing is similar to inkjet printing, but instead of jetting drops of ink onto paper, it jets layers of curable liquid photopolymer onto a build tray and instantly solidifies them with UV light. The Projet 360 utilizes a binder solution, printed onto a loose plaster powder to produce finished, less structural parts.  For all three printers, users begin by preparing 3-Dimensional Geometry within a CAD Application interface. Once sufficiently prepared, a separate program processes the 3D Geometry for Printing.
